I have worked on a wide range of projects including cross browser HTML and CSS implementation of web design, Flash web sites, WordPress powered blog setups with custom theme development, WordPress as a Content Management System (CMS) for websites, PHP-MySQL powered web applications, AJAX powered web applications, Web-scrapping and Feed parsing applications. The website is a static microsite completely designed and developed by me with a strong focus on simplicity and usage. It also features a flash animated trailer and a background score.

Web applications (PHP, MySQL, AJAX) and Web-scrapping and parsing

Technical Charts » This is a stock technical analysis application developed for an Indian stock market related website. The first phase of this project involved programmatically scrapping and parsing historical end of day data feeds from NSE website for the last five years. The second phase involved building an advanced charting application using a commercial charting component and actual historical data. The final phase involved designing an automated task to parse and update daily end of day data from NSE site into the database. Apart from charting, this web application also includes some client side magic like AJAXified charts, image maps and freehand drawing of trend lines without any java applet or flash (using pure javascript and canvas element of HTML)

WordPress custom themes / WordPress as a CMS for websites

Universe-Study.com » This is a website for a foreign education consulting organization. The site is backed by WordPress as a CMS but also used some good JavaScript and Flash based UI elements and animated banners. The JavaScript elements like news scrollers are integrated with the WordPress content and can be managed through the admin interface of WordPress.

Nikmans.com » This is a simple microsite for a pharmaceutical private limited company. The site is backed by WordPress as a CMS. The template is widget enabled scalable framework which can be applied to various projects. The customizations to the template can also be managed thru the admin interface.

Shrigodaharidev.org » This is a website of a temple trust in Mathura. The content and design is much influenced by the client and their existing publications. This is a hindi language website backed by WordPress as an underlying CMS.

Webdlabs itself is also is a blog and microsite powered by WordPress. The theme is roughly inspired by the corporate site of Yahoo.

WordPress Plugins

Flash Photo Gallery WordPress plug-in creates a photo galleries like one provided in Adobe Photoshop CS2 Flash Web Photo Gallery. This is compatible with WordPress and WordPress MU. Galleries can be customized by specifying titles, colors, thumbnail size and a lot more options.

WP Web Scraper is an easy to implement professional web scraper for WordPress. This can be used to display real time data from any websites directly into your posts, pages or sidebar. Use this to include real time stock quotes, cricket or soccer scores or any other generic content. The scraper is built using time tested libraries cURL for scrapping and phpQuery for parsing HTML.

Widgetize Google Gadgets is a plug-in for WP-MU. This provides a widget interface for adding any Google Gadget directly into the WordPress theme sidebar.

Google Gadgets

Google Gadgets are simple HTML and JavaScript applications that can be embedded in your blogs, webpages and iGoogle page. BSE Sensex Ticker, NSE Nifty Ticker and NASDAQ Ticker are the various stock market ticker google gadgets made by me. These gadgets fetch live data from the respective stock exchange websites and display them as a ticker tape. These tickers also provide with basic customization capabilities. RSS News Feed Scroller is gadget which takes upto five RSS feeds and displays them in a vertical scrolling news like manner along with customizable look and colors. All these gadgets are quite popular and cumulatively receive about 6 lac visits a month!
